Sarah Frances Callahan, DVM
Dr. Callahan received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include integrative medicine and shelter medicine. Integrative veterinary medicine combines the best of conventional medicine and complementary and alternative therapies. Shelter medicine is dedicated to the care and needs of homeless animals in shelters and other facilities while focusing on finding them forever homes.
Dr. Callahan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA), the American Heartworm Society, and the Hamilton County Veterinary Medical Association (HCVMA).
Dr. Callahan and her husband, John J. Callahan III, share their home with 5 dogs that come from Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Fergus the beagle; Lucy, a terrier mix; Molly, a chihuahua/dachshund mix; Phoebe, a Shih tzu; and Hugo, a pekingese. In her spare time, Dr. Callahan enjoys fostering animal rescues, gardening, DIY projects, and photography.
